14/11/2011

Following the official opening and blessing of the first zero-carbon vicarage in the UK earlier this year, the St John’s Church community gathered to celebrate the completion of their new Community Centre built for the Parish Church Council. The Mayor of Brent attended the ceremony to officially open the centre which was blessed by the Reverend Andrew Corsie. The Community Centre achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ which we believe is one of the first in the UK.

The St John’s Church vicarage, which achieved a Sustainable Homes Level 6, is the new home for the resident vicar and is part of a £4 million scheme developed by LHA ASRA and the London Diocesan Fund. The scheme also includes 20 affordable homes built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 due to complete before the end of the year.
