Steven Thomson is Head of Cost Consultancy at Silver, bringing 30 years of experience across the construction and property industry. A Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Steven has extensive experience in quantity surveying, cost management and providing strategic commercial advice to clients across a wide range of sectors, including housing, regeneration, education, healthcare, defence, commercial and local government.
Throughout his career, Steven has led cost management services, developed client-focused solutions and delivered complex projects and programmes, including major residential regeneration and building refurbishment schemes. His experience spans the full project lifecycle, from early-stage cost planning and procurement through to contract administration, financial control and project delivery.
Steven believes that effective cost consultancy goes beyond managing budgets. By understanding each client’s objectives, identifying and managing risk, and providing clear, commercially focused advice, he helps clients make informed decisions and achieve long-term value from their investments.
At Silver, Steven is focused on developing the Cost Consultancy service, strengthening client relationships and supporting the delivery of successful projects through trusted advice, collaboration and commercial expertise.
