On Wednesday the 19th of October Silver took part in ‘Wear it Pink’, to raise awareness, money, and help make life-changing breast cancer research and support happen.
This year around 55,000 women and 370 men in the UK will hear the words ‘it’s breast cancer’ and around 11,500 women and 80 men will die.
Breast Cancer Now are determined to reach their goal – by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and be supported to live well.
Every pound raised towards this cause could help fund a potentially life-saving research breakthrough, or give someone the support and information they can rely on when they need it most.
We are passionate in supporting this important cause as it is close to our hearts.
Our colleague who was diagnosed in 2020 is now clear of cancer and said ” I am proud to be part of a company that are raising awareness of breast cancer. I am all for education and think it should be talked about more. Please don’t ignore the signs, I didn’t and I’m still here today”.
Our own star baker Darren Chapman created an incredible and incredibly delicious cake for our Bake sale. Darren’s contribution was the ‘icing on the cake’ and helped make our day more special by raising funds for a fantastic charity.
We all bought a slice raising funds to donate to charity and Silver is matching the funds raised.
