Our Quality Management and Site Inspection Team were delighted to be invited by Southwark Council Development Team to share our experience, knowledge and guidance on the role of the Clerk of Works.
The CPD workshop and presentation last week led by Martin Ward and Mark Poole, covered a range of areas starting with the principles and history of Clerk of Works / Site Inspection role, and the The Institute of Clerks of Works & Construction Inspectorate. A lively and interactive session then followed with the team highlighting on what to look out for on site: Health and safety, and checking the contractor has the site secured, materials are stored safely, the correct PPE is worn, identifying non-compliance and reporting methods.
Our Team are appointed by Southwark Council for Clerk of Work services across a number of schemes in the borough and welcomed the opportunity to meet together with the development team and have a wider discussion on achieving quality standards across all their projects.
